West Coast Trail

Dominic and I finished the West Coast Trail on Thursday afternoon (Sept 2nd). Over the next few days I'll post some pictures. The 46 mile hike with a 50 lb pack was the most intense challenge I've ever put my body through. Day 3 was 24 hours of rain that resulted in record rainfall for the area (more on that later).

I think in the first year of home ownership Anita and I have lived through the worst winter and thunderstorm we've seen since living in Ames (6 years). Winds hit 70+ mph with 1+ inches of rain in 1-2 hours.

Schnauzer Cut

Macy may be part poodle and part schnauzer. We're partial to a schnauzer hair cut. It should be a bit cooler for the humid Iowa summer. There's a bit of trimming to do on the sides but she only has so much patience when getting a hair cut.

We can't believe how the time flies. Ella Rose Porath is already 1 month and still gorgeous.
